This is from 1959 at Daytona beach. My business partner Ace Stone rode a Triumph for Mack McConney who had a small shop in Everett Mass. Mack was the guy that got me into racing. Ace and I have been partners in the machine shop business for over 30 years. |

These four pictures are at VIR in 1965 and 1966. I'm # 6, George Rockett is # 1 and Kurt Liebmann is # 52. I was on a TD1B Yamaha, Kurt was on a 250 water cooled Bultaco and George was on the Ghost Ducati. Roger Blanchard photos

This is me at the Chicane at Harewood in Canada. About 40 years younger and 40 lbs lighter. My TD1B must have seized....again.

This is the first Boston Yamaha TD1B we raced in 1965. This picture was taken the next year when I had the AAMRR number 1 plate. It had Bo Gehring's double disc front brake. Gordon Hoover photo

This was the Amateur - Expert 250 race at Loudon in 1967. I think I finished 5th and 1st Amateur. This was the first Yetman TD1C frame we made. #197 is Ron Pierce, another Amateur, and #6 is Buddy Elmore, a Daytona 200 winner. Dave Friedman photo

Another shot at Loudon. Notice the high-tech protective gear and colorful vest. The AMA didn't like black leathers and they didn't even require gloves. Real men didn't need any pads or armor. Dave Friedman photo.

This was clipped from an English newspaper. It isn't a very good picture but it is the only one I have with me ahead of Mike Hailwood. In case you didn't guess, Mike and Bill Ivy were lapping us. The other rider is Ron Grant. I finished 5th and Ron was 6th. This picture is in the last turn at Mosport in Canada at the 1967 Canadian GP. I'm the only one in the picture that's still living. |

Mike Hailwood on the grid at the 1967 Canadian GP. That's me just over his shoulder. It was the last I saw of him till he lapped us. |

This Triumph belonged to a dealer in NJ. Unfortunately I don't remember his name. It had a Routt 800cc kit, was incredibly fast and handled horribly but was a blast to ride. This was the motivation to make a Yetman frame for Triumphs. The new frame handled great but I blew the engine in practice the first time out and never rode it again. This picture was taken at Mosport in 1968. I finished second The problem was not being able to gear it high enough so I had to back off to keep the revs down. |

This is at Daytona in 1969. I had the fastest Amateur time trial, a new record, but seized on the first lap with a clogged main jet.

This is the combined Amateur/expert at Indianapolis in 1969. I finished 9th behind Yvon DuHamel, Ron Pierce, Jody Nicholas, Mike Duff, Ralph White, Art Baumann, Dick Mann, and Cal Rayborn. That's Ron Grant in front of me. |

This is the last turn on the old Loudon track in 1969. That's me on the Boston Yamaha going inside Ron Pierce on one of the Yamaha factory bikes. This was one of the heat races for the Amateur/Expert race and I won it. It was my last year riding as an Amateur. I also finished first in one of the heat races at Daytona. |

This is the first turn at Daytona in 1970 and I'm in front of Yvon Duhamel, but not for long. |

This is at Loudon in 1972 when I had a national number. It was the only year they gave numbers according to how you finished the previous year. |
